Cinemark Tandy 10 will screen its last discounted movie on Sunday, Oct. 26, according to manager Jonathan Holt. The long time North Little Rock dollar theater (now $2) is shutting down.

I've got a call into the landlord.

Holt said Cinemark was not planning on upgrading the space and putting a new theater in.

The closure of Tandy 10 will leave Central Arkansas without a discount movie option.

Matt Smith, the long time theater owner who took over Riverdale 10 this summer, told the Times in May that he hoped to reopen Market Street Cinema — where he operated for years, but closed in the summer when he took over Riverdale  — as a discount theater.

I've sent him a note to ask if that's still in the cards.
