If you are in or near Bentonville on Wednesday, Jan. 7, check out the lecture by Joachim Pissarro at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Camille Pissaro's great-grandson is the co-author of "Wild Art," which Crystal Bridges describes as a

"visual exploration of the vast spectrum of art that resides outside 'The Art World.' It presents a highly illustrated account of the most exciting, bizarre, and amazing examples of 'other' art worlds — from pimped cars and graffiti to extreme body art, ice sculpture, and flash mobs-this book has them all. Wild Art examines the question of what constitutes 'art' in a way that will make readers look at the world around them in a whole new light.

The lecture is from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Pissarro is the Bershad professor of art history and director of the Hunter College Galleries at the City University of New York. He is a former curator for painting and sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art.
