First, the Bentonville chef notched his belt with a second James Beard Award nomination, and now he's up for Food and Wine magazine's "Best Chef in the Midwest." It's been quite a 2015 for Matthew McClure of The Hive.

We featured one of chef McClure's recipes in our Arkansas Food and Farm food issue this year, and I was impressed by his commitment to fresh, simple flavors and local ingredients. It's all part of the newest foodie catchphrase, "Ozark High South Cuisine," and if you haven't heard that yet, you will again soon enough I promise.

Unlike the Beard awards, this honor is open to public voting. Travel on over to the contest webpage to cast your vote for an Arkansas chef who is bringing national attention to the great things happening here in our state.
