Since I got a date wrong in this item when I posted it previously, here goes again! Boswell Mourot Fine Art is hosting an opening reception tonight (Tuesday, Nov. 3) for its new exhibit of charcoals by Trevor Bennett, "Drawing Value." The reception is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

But wait, there's more: Bennett will give a talk about his ceramic and installation work at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5. The talk will be in room 161 of the Fine Arts Building.

Boswell Mourot is at 5815 Kavanaugh Blvd.

Bennett has taught in Canada at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and in the U.S. at Alfred University and the Maryland Institute College of Art. In "Drawing Value" he is "exploring his personal biography by scrutinizing pocket sized objects from his life," a press release from Boswell Mourot says, and making charcoal drawings that recreate the objects — ceramic figurines — on a large scale. If you are having a hard time believing the drawing above is not a three-dimensional object, here's another picture to help you out:
