All the food blogs are buzzing today about The Food Network's Guy Fieri coming to Little Rock and North Little Rock to film episodes for his "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" show. Already,

Flyway Brewing has confirmed that it won a spot on the show with its specialty pretzels. It will be part of Episode 3, "Pretzels, Pork and Pimiento Cheese"  on Oct. 19, when DDD will air Fieri's visit to "a microbrewery servin' up elevated pub grub like scratch pretzels and a gumbo-cheese fry mashup. Plus, a funky farm-to-table spot piling up a pimento cheeseburger and crankin' out their own homemade brats."

The Root Cafe is a good bet for the pimiento cheeseburger, especially since it was closed to the public yesterday for a "special event."

Episode 4, titled "From Big Burgers to Little Italy," to be aired Oct. 26, will feature Fieri at "a funky joint pairing their craft brews with all kinds of on-the-bun creations. Plus, two brothers putting out real deal Italian, like homemade lasagna and raviolis." Bruno's Little Italy is a shoe-in for the Italian place. But, hmmm. A funky buns joint? How about North Bar, which is closed today for a special event.

  • LIVE LIFE CHILL NOT DEAD DONE GONE

Contrary to rumor, Live Life Chill, the bar/restaurant in the erstwhile Revolution Taco and Tequila Lounge space at the corner of Cantrell and President Clinton Avenue, is not closed. Service manager Lindsey McFadin called the Times this afternoon to say a rumor the bar had closed was killing business; by 3 p.m., no one had been in. The Times, too, had heard the rumor from a number of sources. What has changed, McFadin said, is that the bar is now only open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
