Ashley Bowman, artistic director of the Tucson, Ariz., Artifact Dance Project, will give an “Art of” talk about Frida Kahlo at the Arkansas Arts Center tonight.

The talk, “Movement and Frida,” is in conjunction with the Arts Center’s exhibition “Photographing Frida: Photographs of Frida Kahlo.” Bowman, who has directed and choreographed a dance about the artist, will talk about how dance could interpret Kahlo’s many physical sufferings — some of which left her unable to move — and her emotional pain.

The lecture, 6 p.m., will be preceded by a wine reception, and the galleries will be open after hours. Nonmembers of the Arts Center will be charged a $10 fee.
