If you’re one of the millions that’s been binge-watching "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," then you must also be one of the millions that’s getting a minor glimpse into the life of a wealthy 1950’s Jewish family. Between challah and matzah, Purim and Yom Kippur, it’s easy to get lost in the terminology of Jewish culture. The remedy: the Jewish Food and Cultural Festival, this Sunday at War Memorial Stadium.

The Jewish Federation of Arkansas (JFAR) has been hosting this growing festival annually, and took a hiatus in 2018 to review and strengthen the festival. Booths exploring Jewish and Israeli cultures, a replica of the Western Wall, live music and traditional and homemade dishes from both the Israeli and Jewish cultures will be featured again this year. The popular "Ask-the-Rabbi" booth will also be available, where you can ask about customs and holidays for a thorough and sincere response.

The event is free (visitors purchase tickets to exchange for food), but the public is asked to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Arkansas Foodbank. You can deposit your purchased and unused tickets into Tzedakah boxes (boxes for charity), the proceeds of which will go toward the Jewish Federation of Arkansas’s array of community-related charity work.
