And then I have some land to sell you . . .

Wonderful bit of writing in the sports section of the Friday edition Arkansas Democrat-Gazette - “A night to remember: 7,820 fans pack park for opener” - glossing over the less-than-memorable performance of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals:

“The fact that the San Antonio Missions defeated the Naturals 7-1 was merely an afterthought because this night wasn’t about the outcome. It was all about the beginnings.”

Yeah, right.

Unclean! Unclean!

Some have dreams of great clarity, that may lead their people out of the wilderness. Still others have dreams of prophecy, while others merely have really great erotic dreams.

To my everlasting shame, I must report that last night I had a dream in which Dick Cheney told me a joke about Spiro Agnew . . . and I laughed.

It wasn’t quite the sort of dream where you wake up and consider taking a shower for a few hours to cleanse yourself, but I thought about it.

On the Air with Barbara Fitzpatrick

This week the guest on my show will be Barbara  Fitzpatrick,   Democratic candidate for Washington County Quorum Court (District 6), who is facing no opposition from the Republican party this November. She will take her seat in January.

Fitzpatrick, who works as an administrative  assistant in the Sociology Department at the University of Arkansas, is well-known to many in the Northwest area for her many letters to the editor, in which she has written expensively on the need for Democratic leadership in Washington D.C. and universal healthcare.

During the interview, Fitzpatrick discusses her political views, and issues that face rural Americans in the 21st Century.

Times and showings:

Monday - 7pm
Tuesday  - noon
Saturday   - 6pm

C.A.T. is seen on Channel 18 on the Cox Channel line-up in Fayetteville. Gee, maybe your town should have public access.
