What a surprise! No water in City Hall!

Posted By on Fri, Sep 19, 2008 at 1:52 PM

Plopped a dollar in the machine today in City Hall, just to see if I could buy a bottle of water.

No joy.  No real surprise, either, actually.

You think they ran out naturally, or the vending company came in and pulled them all out? And if they did, did someone ask them to do it?

As a few cynics have emailed me, now the only choices in the machine will be sugary sweet drinks - and not quite so sugary sweet drinks. Diabetics rejoice!

And they will STILL come in those cute little plastic bottles.

And I’m not sure anyone has clued the Coody administration in on this yet, but there really isn’t a Lake Pepsi, where all our soft drinks get filled from. They, too, have - gasp! - water in them.

Ah - the joys of a neutered press

Isn’t it sort of odd that no one in the local media has run with the story that Dan Coody may have told a whopper in front of the U.S. Conference of Mayors? Sort of a yawn, really.

Is it because they are lazy, or because they don’t expect anything else out of Brother Dan?

Well, maybe his opponents will carry the ball. If they do, will it reported in the papers?

Quote of the Day

"Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the life of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends a tiny ripple of hope, and those ripples, crossing each other from a million different centers of energy, build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance." -Sen. Robert F. Kennedy
