The Scowling One Rides Again! How Steve Womack voted last week

Posted By on Tue, Apr 4, 2017 at 2:21 PM

Congressman Steve Womack, with his perpetual propensity for “leading” from the back of the room, was once again busy voting along with the crowd last week.

TSO voted to nullify a Federal Communications Commission rule which mandated that Internet providers must get customer consent before sharing/selling their private information. This would include financial, medical or browsing activity.

Why is that in situations like this, protecting the needs of “constituents” actually translates to protecting corporate desires? Especially when such an act will essentially screw over so many of TSO’s constituents, even the ones who voted for him?

Ah, Steve . . .

Ever the Champion for Truth and Justice, TSO also patriotically voted against a motion to institute an independent probe of ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.

ell us again, Steve, how you lead from the front.

TSO voted to nullify certain EPA rules unless the information - including confidential health particulars about the participants in such research - has been made public so that that the results can be “independently” replicated.

The fact that such studies are under an obligation to protect the privacy rights of the people involved mattered not a whit to TSO and his fellow members of the GOP.

Which brings us to coal miners . . .

TSO - don’t act so shocked, Pale Reader - voted against a motion to require the EPA to use the best science available, whether or not it has been made public, in order to respond to threats to public health, including black lung and asthma, which can result from exposure to pollution or toxic chemicals.

Ah, the GOP: they want to put coal miners back under the ground, - dead or alive.

You’ve been busy, TSO. Isn’t it time for you to make the rounds in some parts of Arkansas where you know you’ll get a warm welcome?

Today’s Soundtrack

Today’s blog is brought to you by the CD “Bach Re-Invented,” which, to tell you the truth, is a little blah, sort of like TSO’s voting record.
