Peter O'Toole, Oscar?

Posted By on Wed, Sep 13, 2006 at 3:22 PM

Peter O'Toole is earning high praise for his portrayal as none other than an English actor who finds success late in his career.  "Venus" stars O'Toole and is showing this week at the Toronto Film Festival.

I ignored overtures that O'Toole was Oscar worthy, but now several festival attendees have made such comments.

Here's the Hollywood Reporter review.  No word on when (or if) this film will arrive in LR before the end of the year.

Thanks to Philip Martin for a shout-out in his Friday MovieStyle column.  I haven't posted my Netflix queue in a while, so here it is.Frozen River; Miracle at St. Anna; Hellboy II: The Golden Army; Happy-Go-Lucky; and Cadillac Records - - all 2008 releases that I missed.
