AFI Film Fest

Posted By on Wed, Oct 4, 2006 at 8:53 AM

is loaded with quality films.  If you're in Hollywood November 1-12, be sure to check it out.  The opening night film, as I already posted here, is Bobby.  The fest recently added Darren Aronofsky's The Fountain (which hasn't received much buzz) and David Lynch's Inland Empire (it's David Lynch, after all).  Volver, Bug (starring Ashley Judd), The History Boys, Come Early Morning (dir. by Joey Lauren Adams of NLR), and Venus (Peter O'Toole's first acting Oscar, perhaps) are all on the bill.

Here's the full line-up

Thanks to Philip Martin for a shout-out in his Friday MovieStyle column.  I haven't posted my Netflix queue in a while, so here it is.Frozen River; Miracle at St. Anna; Hellboy II: The Golden Army; Happy-Go-Lucky; and Cadillac Records - - all 2008 releases that I missed.
