EW staffers confess to great films they just didn't get

Crash
The English Patient
Napoleon Dynamite
The Matrix
Lost in Translation
The Blair Witch Project
There's Something About Mary
Brokeback Mountain
Pulp Fiction
Forrest Gump

are some of the films that make the list.  I'd put all of the LOTR films up there as well as Moulin Rouge, Chicago, Braveheart, Dances with Wolves, and The Wizard of Oz.

Thanks to Philip Martin for a shout-out in his Friday MovieStyle column.  I haven't posted my Netflix queue in a while, so here it is.Frozen River; Miracle at St. Anna; Hellboy II: The Golden Army; Happy-Go-Lucky; and Cadillac Records - - all 2008 releases that I missed.

  • City ethics update; campaign limit was supposed to help the little guy

Some more history on the Little Rock city ordinance that limits candidates for mayor and City Board to raising campaign funds to five months before the November 2018 election. It raises questions not only about Warwick Sabin's fund-raising tactics, but also Mayor Mark Stodola's carryover money.
