Moviegoer shunned (shameless self promotion)

Posted By on Fri, Oct 20, 2006 at 6:10 AM

By Philip Martin in his "On Film" column today.  He writes, "Here’s a brief guide to Internet resources for moviegoers . . ." and then lists several excellent internet resources: rottentomatoes, imdb, metacritic, ghostbird and Greg's movies at yahoo (which I don't think is very good anymore).  I keep thinking, he's not going to go local.  Wrong.  There's a link to Joey Lauren Adams new film Come Early Morning, Matt Smith's Market Street Cinema and PM's own blog, which is always a fun read (it has more than film stuff and some witty posters).  Then he concludes, "Are there any others? I’d be happy to know about them."

Rise up people.  I know this blog hosted by another newspaper, but come on.  I still think it deserves mention, even if the address isn't printed.

You can e-mail P. Martin a

(In the spirit of full disclosure, he's visited this site and praised it on his blog.  Shoot him an e-mail anyway, but be nice.)

Thanks to Philip Martin for a shout-out in his Friday MovieStyle column.  I haven't posted my Netflix queue in a while, so here it is.Frozen River; Miracle at St. Anna; Hellboy II: The Golden Army; Happy-Go-Lucky; and Cadillac Records - - all 2008 releases that I missed.

It's the slowest for movies. "Watchmen," the much anticipated film adapted from, arguably, the greatest graphic novel of all time, has stirred the emotions of critics.
