What does this mean?

1. The Prestige (Buena Vista)
$14.8 million | 2,281 | $14.8 million | 1

2. The Departed (Warner Bros.)
$13.7 million | 3,005 | $77.1 million | 3

3. Flags of Our Fathers (Paramount (DreamWorks))
$10.2 million | 1,876 | $10.2 million | 1

4. Open Season (Sony / Columbia)
$8.0 million | 3,379 | $69.6 million | 4

5. Flicka (Fox)
$7.7 million | 2,877 | $7.7 million | 1

The Departed keeps rolling and is closer to the magical $100 million number, which serves as a good indicator of series Oscar contender.  The Prestige topped Flags, which is very surprising.  Mixed early reviews from Flags appeared to hurt.

Thanks to Philip Martin for a shout-out in his Friday MovieStyle column.  I haven't posted my Netflix queue in a while, so here it is.Frozen River; Miracle at St. Anna; Hellboy II: The Golden Army; Happy-Go-Lucky; and Cadillac Records - - all 2008 releases that I missed.

It's the slowest for movies. "Watchmen," the much anticipated film adapted from, arguably, the greatest graphic novel of all time, has stirred the emotions of critics.
