NY Mag critics talk Oscars

Posted By on Thu, Jan 25, 2007 at 8:52 AM

David Edelstein, one of the critics I read often, and Lynda Obst talk Oscars.  Edelstein, if you'll remember from his days at Slate.com, started "The Movie Club" where he brought in critics from different publications to discuss the year in movies.  Dana Stevens has continued the series.  But it's good to see Edelstein back doing these kind of chats.  More film critics should make use of the web.

Thanks to Philip Martin for a shout-out in his Friday MovieStyle column.  I haven't posted my Netflix queue in a while, so here it is.Frozen River; Miracle at St. Anna; Hellboy II: The Golden Army; Happy-Go-Lucky; and Cadillac Records - - all 2008 releases that I missed.
