Just caught "Flags of Our Fathers."  It's not the film "Letters from Iwo Jima" was, but when you take the films together it is quite an achievement.  I still think it would have been far more interesting to release the films together.  Sure, it's not a sensible Oscar strategy, but they ended up having to do it anyway.

I suppose I will watch the Razorbacks at 2:00.  I still have not seen "Venus," but I'll probably save that for tomorrow.  "Running with Scissors" arrived in the mail today.

Tonight?  I'm hanging at Saints and Sinners the annual benefit for the Arkansas Repertory Theatre.

Thanks to Philip Martin for a shout-out in his Friday MovieStyle column.  I haven't posted my Netflix queue in a while, so here it is.Frozen River; Miracle at St. Anna; Hellboy II: The Golden Army; Happy-Go-Lucky; and Cadillac Records - - all 2008 releases that I missed.

It's the slowest for movies. "Watchmen," the much anticipated film adapted from, arguably, the greatest graphic novel of all time, has stirred the emotions of critics.
