Is a blockbuster summer on its way?  With "Spider-Man 3," "Shrek the Third," "Transformers," "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" and "Ocean's Thirteen," it's possible.  Add in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," "The Simpsons Movie," "Hairspray," "Rush Hour 3" and "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," and the answer may be yes.  It's hard to determine which of these sequels will be any good, but you can bet than many of these films will bring large crowds, especially "Pirates" which opens Memorial Day Weekend.

Thanks to Philip Martin for a shout-out in his Friday MovieStyle column.  I haven't posted my Netflix queue in a while, so here it is.Frozen River; Miracle at St. Anna; Hellboy II: The Golden Army; Happy-Go-Lucky; and Cadillac Records - - all 2008 releases that I missed.
