It was a good weekend of movies.  I saw "The Lookout" on Friday night, "Blades of Glory" on Saturday morning and "The Lives of Others" on Sunday afternoon.  In between I saw thee intense and thought-provoking films, "Candy," "Somersault" and "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints."  "Candy" and "Somersault" are Australian films staring the wonderful Abbie Cornish.  "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints" stars Robert Downey, Jr. in a modern-day "Mean Streets" told through the eyes of man looking back on his childhood.

Thanks to Philip Martin for a shout-out in his Friday MovieStyle column.  I haven't posted my Netflix queue in a while, so here it is.Frozen River; Miracle at St. Anna; Hellboy II: The Golden Army; Happy-Go-Lucky; and Cadillac Records - - all 2008 releases that I missed.
