I haven't mentioned our Movie Club in a while.  We got together this past weekend and caught up with an old favorite of mine "Rushmore".  We took a break for the holidays, but we did catch "The Last King of Scotland" at Market Street with a trip to Lilly's Dim Sum afterwards.  I'm not sure what's up next since two of our crew or weeks away from the birth of their son.  We've seen some good stuff since the Club began and I hope we continue it.  I can't find the article, but somewhere there's a story about movie nights that Quentin Tarantino hosts at his house.  They're all night affairs focused on different genres and exposing the director's love of movies.  It's an interesting idea and one that I wish some true cinema freaks would consider starting.  I'd do it, but I would need to upgrade my movie watching gear.  Anyway, for my friends Stu-Jack and C-Jack, here's my list of the ten best guy movies.

The Godfather/ The Godfather Part II, Scarface, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Diner, Animal House, Caddyshack,  Swingers, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Casino Royale (but just about any Bond movie will do).

Honorable mentions: Die Hard, Terminator, Fletch, Pulp Fiction, Slap Shot, The Blues Brothers, Cool Hand Luke, Dirty Harry, Reservoir Dogs, First Blood.

Thanks to Philip Martin for a shout-out in his Friday MovieStyle column.  I haven't posted my Netflix queue in a while, so here it is.Frozen River; Miracle at St. Anna; Hellboy II: The Golden Army; Happy-Go-Lucky; and Cadillac Records - - all 2008 releases that I missed.

It's the slowest for movies. "Watchmen," the much anticipated film adapted from, arguably, the greatest graphic novel of all time, has stirred the emotions of critics.
