And speaking of money, Dark Horizons has confirmed that Tom Hanks will be paid $35 million up front for "Angels and Demons" and will also be paid close to an additional $15 million on the back end for a grand total of $50 million. 


Alright, I'm not going to say that Hanks isn't worth the money, because his track record proves that he is.  But it sets an interesting precedent for actors in the same way Jim Carrey's offer of $20 million for "The Cable Guy" changed the salary landscape. 

For what it's worth, if they're going to spend more than $200 million on this film, director Ron Howard and screenwriter Akiva (I wrote "Batman and Robin") Goldsman need to step aside.  This is great project for Paul Greengrass or Peter Weir.
