It should be noted that Little Rock theatres never screen the Academy Award-nominated film "Little Children" starring Kate Winslet, Jackie Earle Haley and Patrick Wilson and directed by Todd Field.  What the hell?  I mention this because in 12 minutes I'll be on KARN with the real Bob Steel talking summer blockbusters and it simply pisses me off that "Little Children," which will arrive on DVD next Tuesday, never made and dogshit films like "Next" and "The Condemned," did (they each open today to disasterous reviews.)  Crap like "Kickin' It Old School," which also opens here is so terrible it couldn't even get reviewed.  When the trades don't even both to you review, you know you're finished.

While Summer 2007 will provide some enjoyment ("Shrek the Third", "The Bourne Ultimatum," "Knocked Up," "Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix," more specifically), I cannot get past that a film such as "Little Children" never makes it to Little Rock.

I'll begin my 2007 list of great films that probably won't make it here unless the folks running Breckenridge, Rave and Riverdale pull their head out of their . . .
