I just watched the first half of the two-part "Brando" documentary on TCM.  Al Pacino, Martin Landau, Martin Scorsese, Dennis Hopper, Jon Voight and others.  There's some never before seen footage of interviews and off-camera interactions in addition to many film clips.  Buit what makes the film worthwhile and watchable are the thoughts from Pacino and Landau as well as Laurence Oliver (who admits that Brando was a better actor than he was).  Jane Fonda wears a stupid looking cowboy hat and the last 30 minutes of Part I had a slight E! True Hollywood Story feel to it, but overall it was an interesing first half of the film.

Thanks to Philip Martin for a shout-out in his Friday MovieStyle column.  I haven't posted my Netflix queue in a while, so here it is.Frozen River; Miracle at St. Anna; Hellboy II: The Golden Army; Happy-Go-Lucky; and Cadillac Records - - all 2008 releases that I missed.

It's the slowest for movies. "Watchmen," the much anticipated film adapted from, arguably, the greatest graphic novel of all time, has stirred the emotions of critics.
