I've been away from the blog for a few days due in large part to other work concerns.  Nevertheless, I'm online early this morning getting ready for a quick trip to Chicago.  I noticed that Joel Siegel, the sometimes funny film critic for "Good Morning America" who got into a serious spat a few years ago over Smith's "Clerks 2," died.  Siegel loudly walked out of a New York screening after 40 minutes causing an online rant from Smith in response.   Sigel had colon cancer.

Speaking of dying, I saw "Evening" early Sunday morning.  It was a perplexing film because of it's simplicity.  I am interested to know just how bad Ms. Minot's first script was because Michael Cunningham's re-written script isn't any good.  It provides for a very pretty, very dull film.  Vanessa Redgrave and Meryl Streep share several minutes of screen time at the end, which ended up being worth the wait.

"Ratatouille" owned the box office this weekend by taking in $47.2 million"Live Free or Die Hard" also did well finishing second with $33.1 million

A slew of new trailers have been released.  "The Bourne Ultimatum," "Sunshine," "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium," and "Eastern Promises,"

I'm off to the airport.  I'll try and catch up later this evening.

It's the slowest for movies. "Watchmen," the much anticipated film adapted from, arguably, the greatest graphic novel of all time, has stirred the emotions of critics.
