Norman Mailer's movies are the subject of this interesting piece from A.O. Scott of The New York Times.  Mailer directed four films (and starred in three) and they will be shown as part of “The Mistress and the Muse: The Films of Norman Mailer,” a "fascinating and wide-ranging retrospective taking place during the next two weeks at three Manhattan cultural institutions: the Film Society of Lincoln Center, the Paley Center for Media and Anthology Film Archives," writes Mr. Scott.

Thanks to Philip Martin for a shout-out in his Friday MovieStyle column.  I haven't posted my Netflix queue in a while, so here it is.Frozen River; Miracle at St. Anna; Hellboy II: The Golden Army; Happy-Go-Lucky; and Cadillac Records - - all 2008 releases that I missed.
