Interested in seeing some movies this weekend?  David Cronenberg's new film "Eastern Promises," which won the top prize at the Toronto International Film Festival, is here.  It receives a strong review from Arkansas Democrat Gazette film critic Philip Martin and a so-so review from Arkansas Times critic Fritz Brantley.

"No End in Sight" opens at Matt Smith's Market Street Cinema.  New York Times film critic A.O. Scott opines, "It’s a sober, revelatory and absolutely vital film."  New Yorker film critic David Denby writes of the film, "Though the facts in “No End in Sight” are well known, the movie is still a classic."

Steve Buscemi's new film "Interview" starring Sienna Miller also opens.  Owen Gleiberman of Entertainment Weekly notes, "Any doubts as to whether Sienna Miller is a gifted actress should be laid to rest by Interview, a riveting two-hander, in which she plays an American model-actress being interviewed by a bitter, sarcastic worm of a journalist (Steve Buscemi)."  David Edelstein of New York Magazine agrees, "Interview is a two-actor psychodrama that evolves into a cat-and-mouse game, with each character getting the upper hand. It’s rife with hairpin emotional turns, deceptions, confessions, and dredged-up secrets. I’ve sat through so many claustrophobic examples of the genre I forgot how exhilarating, how pure a great one could be. Interview is a great one—electric as theater and cinema."

Luc Besson's latest film "Angel-A" doesn't get much love from the critics, but it still might be worth a look.  Pete Travers of Rolling Stone writes, " What nearly saves the movie, besides the Rasmussen eye candy, is Paris itself, shot in shimmering black-and-white by the gifted Thierry Arbogast. Talk is cheap here, and often inane, but as a silent film, Angel-A could have been magic."

I can't really say that I have much interest in "Good Luck Chuck," despite Jessica Alba's hotness. "Resident Evil 3" and "Sydney White" look downright awful.

It's the slowest for movies. "Watchmen," the much anticipated film adapted from, arguably, the greatest graphic novel of all time, has stirred the emotions of critics.
