My apologies for being absent from this blog for the past few weeks.  Work details and life over at Blake's Think Tank have kept me busy.  That's and it's been relatively calm on the movie front.  I haven't been to a movie in three weeks, which feels weird.  I debated, for a second, going to see "10,000 B.C."  I didn't.  I've heard good things about "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day," with Frances McDormand and Amy Adams.  But I haven't been to see it.

Through 10 weeks of 2008 I've seen three new releases: "Cloverfield," "27 Dresses" and "Vantage Point."  That's pitiful, I know.  But I am more encouraged by two films opening this weekend:  Michael Haneke's "Funny Games" starring Naomi Watts, Michael Pitt and Tim Roth, and "City of Men" directed by Paolo Morelli and produced by Fernando Meirelles ("City of God" "The Constant Gardener").   Both open at Matt Smith's  Market Street Cinema.

In other movie news, we have a trailer for "The Incredible Hulk" starring Ed Norton.

  • That Time of Year

It's the slowest for movies. "Watchmen," the much anticipated film adapted from, arguably, the greatest graphic novel of all time, has stirred the emotions of critics.
