It's going to be a good weekend for movies in Central Arkansas.  The adaptation of Philip Roth's novel "The Dying Animal" (the film version is titled "Elegy") starring Ben Kingsley and Penelope Cruz opens at Market Street Cinema.  "Appaloosa," the western from Ed Harris and also starring Viggo Mortensen opens here too.  "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" starring Michael Cera; "Blindness" starring Mark Ruffalo and Julianne Moore from the novel by Jose Saramago; and "Flash of Genius" starring Greg Kinnear about the guy who invented the windshield wiper round out the group.

Thanks to Philip Martin for a shout-out in his Friday MovieStyle column.  I haven't posted my Netflix queue in a while, so here it is.Frozen River; Miracle at St. Anna; Hellboy II: The Golden Army; Happy-Go-Lucky; and Cadillac Records - - all 2008 releases that I missed.
