Re: “The Arkansas Times introduces digital membership

I think DBI and a few others should get free access because they are important content providers to this blog and might not be able to afford the fee.

Those who can will pony up like the rest of us who mainly lurk in the background.

Re: “Strawberry fields forever; then I read the paper

Dang, I sorta hate to pile on ol' Johnny Ray, but what the hey. He and David Sanders are real a**hole buddies, thick as thieves, like Pierret and Pierrot, Alphonse and Gaston, Laurel and Hardy, Goebbels and Goering, whatever. The boy needs to dig himself and re-evaluate the scene. Sometimes you get so far inside you lose sight of the issue.

Re: “UPDATE: Nate Bell shoots from lip on Boston violence; Speaker Carter apologizes for him; Bell apologizes for 'timing'

Way to represent our state, Nate. People everywhere will think better of us thanks to your wise remarks.

This guy is emblematic of the Republican Party in Arkansas. Meddlesome, mean-spirited morons who have no business making government policy. Their misdeeds will haunt Arkansas for many years whether they remain in power or not.

Re: “The Sunday night oily ethics line

The Dem-Gaz had a map in today's paper showing all the pipelines running through Arkansas. A very sobering graphic display.

Re: “Gunmen for Jesus

This bill heavily infringes on my right to worship if my church is required, in a very heavy intrusion by the government, to proclaim that all ye who pack are forbidden here. My meditations on peace and love are summarily rendered useless by such dictates of Caesar.

And if, as some contend, the church may remain silent, the ambiguity shatters the peace just as soundly.

It should be that churches that ALLOW guns, that coddle the fetishists, should be the ones that have to put up signs. All others may worship without that sin.

Re: “Gunmen for Jesus

I think the blood of a lamb over the doorway would be an appropriate sign that Guns are Holy in This House.
