Re: “State interpreter unqualified, report says

A number of my family members, friends, and associates are hearing impaired, some profoundly so. At least one of them has required the assistance of ARS, and it is shocking that he would have been subjected to the "services" of someone who is so dismally unqualified.
This patronage appointment is a betrayal of the public trust, and reflects extremely badly on the responsible ARS staff, on Bill Walker, and on Gov. Beebe.
Only immediate corrective action can prevent this outrage from being a permanent stain on all involved.

Re: “Why hasn't Mark Martin thought of this?

Viper, you're a genius. Why would I say that if it wasn't true?

Re: “UPDATE: Humane Society raps 'inhumane' pork production

Want to live a lot longer and feel a lot better along the way? Eat no animal products.

Heretical in Arkansas, I know, but don't criticize it until you've tried it for a month. Your waist will get thinner, your conscience will be lighter, and your energy level will increase in exact proportion to your wallet getting fatter.

Trekker et al. (and thanks, eL):
Sorry I wasn't clear; yes, that was sarcasm. (Is there an emoticon for that?)

Re: “Who is Occupy Little Rock?

DBI: Get off the hamburger. It turns your stomach, and your stomach's right. It's bad for the environment, bad for the cows, bad for you.
Life and food are much more interesting when you go vegetarian. It's a lot cheaper. Among the many ailments helped by a plants-only diet is depression.

If you eat nothing but whole(some) plant-based foods for a month, I guarantee that your wallet will be heavier, and your waistline and spirit will be lighter!
