Re: “Jerry Guess to lead Pulaski School District UPDATE

Co led, you obviously haven't spent much time in the classroom. A vast majority of teachers & support staff that belong to PACT & PASS have more chutzpah in their little pinky than you ever will. Go ahead & blame the unions for all this mess, but, I know better. Would you even work in the trenches of public education? I seriously doubt it. You don't have the backbone nor do you have a grasp of the big picture.

How about all the superintendents that were bought out in years past? How about the financial mismangement by the upper eschelon at Central Office? How about giving someone a lateral transfer to Central Office at six figures a year when they should have been fired just because they scream lawsuit? If anyone has won the last couple of decades it's been the damned lawyers & their attorney fees.

Re: “Restoring order in Pulaski County schools

Co led, I don't know who you are but you've got your avitar ALL wrong. Many of the culprets that contributed to PCSSD's demise aren't on your montage. Can you say Charlie Wood? Can you say lawsuits against the union that cost me even more money as a tax payer? Can you say NO ONE would fund a tax increase because of the lunacy?

The fact is, too many sup's were bought out with contracts with "golden parachutes". Central Office is bloated with too many that should have either retired or been fired. If you have a case of the red ass monkey's so be it - shut your pie hole. You don't have a clue unless you've been in the trenches as a teacher, an active parent or a volunteer within this dysfunctional system.

Granted, this system was & is completely broken. A state takeover isn't an instant fix, nor is getting rid of the unions, or board. Bozo's like Clark should have been removed. Idiots like Nellums should have been fired before he was transferred & ultimately elected in LRSD.

But, don't tread on two board members that were just elected last year, or a concerned parent that gave a damn.

Re: “State takes over Pulaski School District

I'm not sure how to feel about Hopson & the entire board being sacked by the state. Having one even larger bureaucracy taking over a smaller one doesn't make me think that somehow magically things will get better for PCSSD. I am relieved with the selection of Lester as he has a proven track record & did manage the district well albeit many years ago.

My biggest gripe with this district is the bloated expenses & salaries at Central Office. The first thing Lester needs to do is sack everyone at Central Office that do not possess correct credentials or certifications and individuals that should be put out to pasture instead of making six figures a year with impressive titles.

If you couldn't cut it in the classroom, or couldn't make failing high schools work as a principle why in the hell should you be at Central Office making even more money on my dime. If this district is to ever recover from this chaos - clean house & clean house good. Start with Central Office & "Cabinet" members. Roll up your sleeves & get ready to work. There is a whole lot of trash to be taken out.

Re: “Could we trade Pryor for Scott Brown?

Senator Mark Pryor is not even a shadow of his Father. He's more like a ghost. I'd gladly take Senator Scott Brown over Senator Mark Pryor. He has no chutzpah, charisma, compassion or common sense on this matter.

I hope that Senator Lincoln will at least leave office with dignity & vote for the repeal of this archaic ban. It is much better to decide these things in Congress than in the Courts.
