  • First-hand: 20-week abortion limit is unfair

With Rep. Andy Mayberry's bill to ban abortions in Arkansas from the 20th week of pregnancy onward currently delayed in a Senate committee, there's still time to hear from those who think this legislation has negative consequences for women, in addition to potentially running afoul of federal court precedent.

Re: “Former Governor's School leader objects to change in nature, location of program

Thank you, Dr. Haggard. Governor's School was an exceptional experience for my daughter for precisely these reasons. She did not need more of what she received at her high school, where she received an excellent education, but a different learning experience altogether. Our gifted and talented students deserve special services, but these are difficult for most schools to provide. I appreciate your perspective and reminder of the purposes of AGS.

Conway voted in favor of a 3/8 cent sales tax for roads. Unofficial count 59% for, 41% against.

Re: “Mother and child in Little Rock homeless camp

The only shocking thing is that people are shocked by this. There are many children living in tents and cars. Our child poverty rate is 23.8%. 75% of children in Little Rock Public Schools receive free/reduced price lunch (up to 180% poverty level - most are below the 130% poverty level to qualify for free lunch).
