Re: “Dinner and dancing in Dogtown

Yes, it is much tamer. Parking is not difficult either unless there is an event at Verizon. There are volunteers that walk the area to assist visitors and residents. This reduces the chances that some "citizens" might be preying on people. Also, it tends older, so there are less of the recently legal revelers testing their limits and often exceeding them. Try Capeo for some excellent Italian, and Crush is probably the friendliest bar in both cities.

Re: “GOP highway plan: More falling bridges and potholes

Them roads and bridges need to quit mooching, get up off of their asphalt, and get a job like the rest of us working stiffs!

Re: “No sex, please, we're cartoon characters

Censors never learn. Suddenly, everyone is rushing to find Luann online, even if they never bothered to read it before.

Re: “Fix one highway bottleneck, create another

Luckily, I don't have to drive there in the mornings. But, coming from 630W, it's easy to see that 630E is backed up the entire length. Of course the Big Rock didn't solve the problem if it's creeping that direction all the way into Downtown.

Re: “Beat the Heat: Nom Noms in Hot Springs

I finally got to eat there a while back. The food ordering system was less-than-stellar, and the server didn't know much about the food, but I ordered fish tacos and cheese dip, and they were excellent! The ingredients were all very fresh and the fish was well seasoned(!) and came with a tasty chipotle-mayo.

I had to try a pop after lunch, so without dwelling on the endless varieties, I found Heath/Nutella and snatched it up. Cold, messy, and worth the sticky fingers that resulted from the consumption.

While most burrito assembly line places can be mediocre, I was very impressed by Nom Nom's and look forward to the next time I'm down thata way.

Re: “Little Rock a possible site for annual college football bowl game

Rice Bowl? Chicken Bowl? Lignite Bowl? Frack Bowl? Tar Sands Bowl? Hog Manure Bowl?

Re: “Huckabee: churches should reject tax exempt status

The missing part of this equasion is that tax-exempt status allows people to give money to these churches and deduct that charitable giving on their own taxes. If a church loses this status, then nobody can claim the deduction. Just a wild hunch, but I bet the coffers would be slightly smaller.

And the whole 'no campaining' ruse is mostly smoke and mirrors since many churches pass out sheets with the people God wants you to vote for.
