Re: “Michael Reed, charged with knocking down 10 Commandments monument: 'I just couldn't help myself'

On a more immediate note; the PCSO jail is no place for the weak. This fellow may well suffer harm beyond what the staff can do to him.

Being in the construction and maintenance trades, I am well familiar with this facility, having a number of employees being in their service over the years. The life of an inmate is improved considerably with funds available for the inmate commissary which provides for needs on a weekly basis.

Considering that this man did what most of us really would have wanted to do, but on a sober basis could not bring ourselves to do it, it would seem a good and righteous thing that we should make available to him some funds with which he can get the rudimentary things that make life in this hell hole tolerable.

You can drop off a money order at the desk or you can send it in the mail. I plan to get a $100.00 order tomorrow and mail same to him. I hope all of you will do similar.

Re: “Rutledge defends the slut- and fat-shaming Donald Trump. Blames Hillary.

So. Next up: Jason Rapert and Mike Huckabea duet of defense. Surely we can count on them to embrace solidarity and attest to the rightness of her position and her good character. I'm waiting.......

Re: “State Rep. Mary Bentley threatens Game and Fish funding in encounter with wildlife officer

Were it 40 years ago and the legislator in question was Paul VanDalsem (sp?), that officer would have excused himself real quick. Times have changed. Thanks to term limits no one is in office long enough to build any power (or be very effective for that matter). Seems i recall the state fire marshal getting too big for his britches a couple of years ago around Mena. Ended badly for him. This lady is elected and will probably come out just fine, but she had best try to see that sobriety is the order of the day at her place or she could be in the lights again. Is Herby Branscum still practicing law up there? Have not thought of him in some time.

Re: “Go Hogs. To Fayetteville? Pondering War Memorial's future.

The school is in Fayetteville, the kids are in Fayetteville, putting a game in Little Rock only hurts the recruiting process. Who would want to bring a young prospect to War Memorial? Time for the War Memorial commission to actually do what is in the best interests of the students and give up the battle.

Perhaps Asa can load that commission with more members from NWA and they can get this done.

Re: “Two dead in shooting-suicide, Little Rock police report

I got the report on the news last night that they had a 17 year old son. He went next door to call the cops. Jesus. It is horrific enough as a child if you do not have to see the carnage. He had to witness it.

Re: “Two dead in shooting-suicide, Little Rock police report

If you are young, and this happens, one can recover, but the journey is unutterably hard. These folks were in their late 50s, so hopefully the kids were out of the house. Great pain here.
