Re: “Another week, another open line

Posting this here as a followup on the Dicamba thing. It's local, but it's really well written and was in yesterday's Sunday paper. Interesting in that it - let's see what the damage is and then the university will show you the right way to use it. The other thing is that it's a WEHCO paper.

Jon Smith's argument boils down to "men can't control themselves, it's not their fault."

Re: “Hog football: The lawyers take over

The sad thing is that Missouri will probably sign him, because Barry Odom is on reeaalllly thin ice and the athletic dept. Just fired a 20+ year announcer because he wasn't getting along with the new regime.

Re: “Saturday night live

AH, but Cato, willows and sycamore are nothing compared to the hazelnut and umbrella magnolias - much less yellow lady slippers - along the Winding Stair trail on the Little Missouri. Even the Highway 84 'valley' is narrow.

I wonder if 'The Narrows' is still here? When I think of The Narrows I think of Narrows Dam, and Lake Greeson, but I know that is not the only Narrows in Arkansas.

Re: “Saturday night live

It's apple time. Spousal Unit and I - in my almost 20 year old car that still effing gets 30+ mpg on the road - went to the upriver orchard today. Got a bushel of Jonathons and a half peck of Winesap. Plus a bag of cracked pecans. Little ones from up here, cold hardier and smaller, but with more oil. It was a beautiful day, and through some of the state's best farmland. The Missouri River bottoms at i-70 were farmed until the big floods in 93, and nature continues to take over. Some of the sycamore is getting pretty big, but it's still mostly softwood kind of tree growth. That line of storms looks like it might get to all of us. I know we can use the rain.
