Re: “The cops and robbers open line

So that interview the current president has promised with Mueller? It's off. I think Trump maybe answered in writing and knows he's in a corner. Because Trump is going to have answer the questions. Or you know, announce his two year resignation because of health and family issues. And because god told him that's what to do. But that won't save Jared and Junior. Unless there's a deal.

Best deal maker ever?

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Loser.

Re: “Saturday's open line

Jake, Yes! My husband and I talked about the story the night we met on a blind date.

And hey, guess who wants a government shutdown in December if he doesn't get funding for his wall? Because the House is not gonna be so friendly once January rolls on through. Plus the talky-talk about the military............It makes up for not going to that WWI memorials for veterans the other day, right?

Re: “Saturday's open line

Trump clearly has some health issues, whether mental, physical, or both. And he really cannot handle jet lag. No telling what kind of medication he feeds himself, prescribed or not. Jared and Junior are looking at being indicted. Thanksgiving Friday would be good. Don't they call that Black Friday? Maybe they can get a deal?

Re: “Saturday's open line

Movie review from someone who rarely watches movies. Much less as soon as they come out. But, well, we get to be the secondary account from the boy child on his netflix. And the Coen Brothers.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs will grow on you. It is six different movies. But they are all about death on the frontier of the American West. each on has a title, but I am going to call them, in order:
The Gunslinger
The Hanging
Snake Oil
The Prospector
Wagon Train
Stage Coach
You gotta get through the gratuitousness of the first one, which makes the second one easy peasy. But then something happens and you keep watching. The cinematography - full HD 1080p or so I'm told - was high camp, especially The Gunslinger. Wagon Train made me think of a A Boy and His Dog, the story, not the movie. But that's just it. It makes you think and the things you don't like about make you think, and the things you like about it make you laugh, and in the end it doesn't matter.

It helps to know the History of the West. And the difference between the history and the myth. It's a really good movie, even if it's really six videos.

Re: “Thank goodness open line and news roundup

What beliefs I do have are those that I can recognize as subjective. Of course I do. I am human. None of us are simple binary creatures. Brain chemistry and pheromones drive most of it. Based on survival and reproduction. And I am one of those very few people who truly is what you see is what you get. Folks here about these parts know that. I know who I am. You do not.

Re: “Thank goodness open line and news roundup

Beliefs are not unshakeable. People tend to dig in and cling to their beliefs in the face of irrefutable and objective information disproving their beliefs, but that doesn't change facts. There are people who cling to the idea that the earth is flat, but that doesn't make it true. However small the number might be, there will always be people who come around to accept the reality that their belief(s) have been misguided. Belief is subjective. Fact is not subjective. Earth is not the center of the universe. Pregnancy can result from rape.

I have very few beliefs, preferring instead to think based on available objective information. Belief is a mental state. Mental states are subjective and changeable. Science doesn't care what you believe.

It's funny how the course of history is indicative of the idea that facts have a liberal bias. Not always, but by preponderance.
