Re: “Springtime in Hillcrest: A no-smoking Fountain Bar in the works

"Those who've been scared off the Fountain"... nevermind the Fountain! I have avoided Canon Grill next door for years, due to the disgusting smell of smoke that seeps over and through the wall from next door at the Fountain. I'm sure the stale odor will linger in those permeated walls for many months to come.

Re: “Murder and the mayor's race

Ivan defines freedom as: having lots of gun violence. How very Wild West. In the converse, making citizens safer from gun deaths is "repression" of "freedom". Should we, then, erect monuments to freedom at sites of mass shootings?

Ivan has basically admitted that looser gun laws do not inhibit or counteract violence, but actually increase gun deaths. Double check your party's talking points, next time.

Re: “Little Rock native to lead Oberlin College

Congratulations, President Ambar. Oberlin College is a wonderful place. One of the best! I'm happy as an Arkansan to think of it as a second home.

Re: “What's new and coming soon to Main Street Little Rock

tired, you are certainly right that discriminatory, anti-LGBTQ legislation and attitudes hurt Arkansas business. everyone should call the Governor as well as your State and U.S. representatives and tell them: if they really care about the economy, repeal hateful legislation and start encouraging diversity.

Re: “Ruthie Foster comes to South on Main

Don't take this particular dig at Mumford & Sons too personally. They've played the music game hard and earned their immense success. Consequently, they're subject to scrutiny by many who, right or wrong, view their aesthetic as contrived and plagiarizing Americana. So, yes, they are widely made fun of - take, for example, a line about them in the movie 22 Jump Street. WS presented his/her take as just that - his or her take. I and many, many other music fans happen to agree. But for those who like Mumford & Sons' music and presentation, including many of my close friends, it's great that you had an opportunity to see them put on what was, by your own accounts, a terrific performance.

Re: “The eLwood memorial line and video

I, too, will miss reading the thoughts of that clever commenter. Rest easy, now, eLwood.
