Re: “George Washington's open line

Kate, I love the commentaries as much as I do the actual feature movie The Lord Of The Rings. I just watched, for the fiftieth time, Return Of The King this past week. The movie and commentaries equal about 12 hours. To me, that is the last good movie ever made. Emersum, I barely have time to read this blog. Always like NVR's cartoons. Happy Birthday George.

Re: “New evidence brings a call for the impeachment of Justice Clarence Thomas

They should have believed Anita Hill, but instead they dismissed her story, stopped other witnesses from testifying, and gave him an exalted position, so over the years he could rule against women and protect sexual harassers in the workplace. This has got to change now. Value women's lives. Anita Hills story should not be diminished because of the Clinton scandal and he should not be an excuse to continue to accept sexual misconduct in the workplace. It is about the wrongness of not believing Anita Hill's testimony against Thomas, which allowed him to make some bad decisions that had a negative effect on women's lives. This is not about Clinton. He is not a yardstick to measure the wrong or right of every sexual harassment story. This is about believing and showing respect for Anita Hill and her particular complaint against Clarence Thomas. This is about the women who did not give their consent. Believe these women and show them the respect they deserve.

Re: “Hear Our Voice: a message for politicians

This is a great idea. Taking action feels good. People power.

Re: “Blue Hog questions early voting procedure in Searcy County

Thank you to the Blue Hog Report for being alert. I take my right to vote very seriously. People are going to be watching the poll locations closely May 22 and Nov. 6 for any violations of the law that would interfere with a citizens right to vote or with the election results. I expect there to be enough polling locations to accommodate everyone, so the disabled do not have to wait in line for hours. I expect there to be enough voting machines and that they will be working perfectly. I expect a legal election that can be verified. I expect notices to be posted in the newspaper and outside the polling locations for everyone to see. I expect the State Board of Election Commissioners to do their job, which is posted on their website along with cute pictures of the members. If there is a shortage of money to fund the primary or general elections, then I am sure you can borrow some from the General Improvement Fund.

Re: “Election security scorecard: Arkansas grades between D and F

I seriously doubt that it is possible for Mike Huckabee to be embarrassed about anything.

Re: “The kids are marching open line

1964 Bob Dylan. Thanks Silverback. I am so glad to see and hear young people standing up and speaking out about the school shootings. I am very sorry they have a government that won't. Glad Combs, Tucker and Spencer spoke out. Has anyone heard Senator Trent Garner or Rep. Charlie Collins offering their prayers to the grieving families? I wonder about the content of their thoughts and prayers.

Re: “Government holiday includes Hutchinson news conference

Maybe if Governor Hutchinson had stayed in his office more in the past six months, instead of traveling to campaign for reelection this November, more work would have been accomplished and he would not need to spend more tax payer dollars on a "expeditious special session."
