Quick, Ollie - answer your doorbell - it's Donald J. Trump!

Re: “Him, again

Let us have some honesty here. I am a woman and a feminist. However - what Trump said - is true in many cases. Yes it was incredibly vulgar - but he didn't know he was being recorded. You see, No one ever wants to talk about groupies - who throw themselves willingly at those in power - whether celebrities or politicians. And let themselves be grabbed by the you-know-what and much more just so they can be in the aura of someone they are in thrall to. And Bill Clinton said this himself - albeit in nicer language because he knew he was on television - in an Oprah Winfrey interview some years back. She, in effect asked him how he could have done what he did - and he paused, then said, "Because I could." I saw that - and I thought - how absolutely honest he is being!! The attraction of power - of any kind. That should not be ignored if one is honest. It may be unfortunate, but it is true.

Many women still WANT to be in that power circle - and will do anything to be there. That is their choice - and to ignore this is to just put your head in the sand. So self-righteous about Bill Clinton is Lyons - remember how Lyons just called Bill "a big dope" after all his sexual carryings-on were publicized. A Big Dope. But Lyons cannot give such an amusing moniker to Trump and his sexual shennanigans - or even doubt any of his Trump's accusers - like Lyons has done with Clinton's accusers. Talk about hypocrisy!!

Re: “Above the law

And I talk to Bobby, as I affectionately call him, every morning at 10 a.m. Such a nice fella, I tell him he should get out more - those bags under his eyes are worrisome. He just laughs, the dickens. What else .... oh yes, next question?

Re: “Above the law

Ollie, Ollie - To put your dear mind at rest - yes, I have been an eyewitness at every single meeting Mueller is investigating. Next question?

Re: “Above the law

Semantics, semantics - OK, two can play silly word games - for Trump or Trump Jr. (who cares) to say the meeting with the Russians was about Russian adoption - is not a lie - because that IS what the meeting actually was about - there was NO viable information given about Hillary Clinton, just a few ambiguous ramblings - and then the Russian immediately started talking about Russian adoptions the rest of the time. So the Russian meeting WAS about Russian adoptions. Whatever the reason Trump Jr. attended - again, that is what the meeting actually was about. This type of word-play could go on forever - on both sides.

The point is that this seems so terribly petty - mumbling about the pardon and the memo from last January - when the Korean summit is about to take place. Natter, natter, natter - on politics, Lyons has become like a gossipy old woman.

However, his essay on Philip Roth last week was excellent. Ah well, and tra-la.

Re: “Like wrestling

Oh, please. On and on and on Lyons goes - where he stops - well, again let's all wait for the Mueller probe and the Inspector General's report. (Doesn't rhyme, but you get what I mean.) What is the poor man going to do if - which may be on again - the Korean summit goes on and it is fruitful. Lyons will just natter on about the Postal Service - yeah right.

His political views have become unhinged - he sounds more and more like the radical right in his rhetoric (except on the other side). Which would be infinitely more believable if Lyons, himself, wasn't still in thrall to the Clintons (you know, the one whom Lyons called "a big dope" for his sexual actions and the one who trashed millions of women in her India talk). What he can just forget and forgive there - the mind reels. This self-righteousness NOW is comical. I do tend to wonder why? Hmmmm. Alas.

Re: “Trump train derailed

Ms. Shine - And I quote: "Do I want to try and be tolerant and live in a society with other people or do I want to live the rest of my life killing off everyone I do not like." Gee, talking about tolerance, you certainly are not very tolerant of anyone you doesn't share your political beliefs. The self-righteousness, oh, my. But where, do tell, do you get the notion that anyone who doesn't agree with you is out there killing everyone off? Everyone?? Is the entire "deplorable" citizenry out there marauding through towns, villages, cities, McDonald's and killing the left of whoopies - not that I know of - they are too busy trying to make ends meet and feed their families. Why not relax a wee bit - go outside - sit in the sun. Of course we have problems - but hysteria won't solve anything. I tutor in a high school - why not try that?
