I'm sorry but in some ways he is right, crass and rude his comments may be, there are people out there who are getting free insurance that are able but unwilling to work. There are also a LOT of people who we think of when we think about Medicaid, the elderly and truly disabled, who are having their hours cut back simply because there is less money to go around now that roughly 9% of the population of this state have been added to the medicaid rolls. Not really Medicaid for those not deemed medically needy are just getting free insurance that Medicaid pays for so its not really Full Range Medicaid. However it is a significant drain on the state's resources. Ask yourself who should receive help first? A stroke victim who can only move one arm and half their neck or a perfectly healthy person who simply will not look for a job?
