Re: “Arkansas heritage department's open-door policy: It's the exit

Drewjd...the Section 106 Manager, Robert Scoggin, was asked to resign or be fired the first of December for doing his job. Look for articles on December 1st and the 8th. There is no one that knows as much about Section 106 in this state as those 3. Something is amiss and our historic artifacts will suffer.

Re: “LR speakers blast state board for double standard

There wouldn't be a need for choices such as charter schools if the LRSD had better leadership, visions and accountability.

Re: “Move afoot to scuttle review of charter school expansions

Excuse me Doc but I was not able to edit my post. My children, including a special needs child, attend a charter school and I couldn't be happier with the education they are receiving along with the diversity of the students and faculty. You are absolutely wrong about the make up of our charter school in relation to race, economic diversity, and intellectual ability.

Obviously people aren't doing their homework before posting inaccuracies about charter schools. If the school districts were fixed parents wouldn't feel the need to send there children to a charter school.

Re: “eStem branches out

I wish I knew how to remove the censorship post. I get impatient at times. Lol

Re: “eStem branches out

It's funny to me that after 8 years the LRSD is still crying over the opening of eSTEM. Dr. Brooks, the former superintendent of the LRSD, was trying to implement the philosophies used at eSTEM today but met much resistance from the district and staff. When Dr. Brooks helped prepare the community for the opening of this fantastic charter school and set the foundation for eSTEM many parents were excited to hear that we had options for the education we wanted for our children. The LRSD had a great leader with a great vision and the LRSD blew it! LRSD needs to fix their own problems and quit attacking the charter schools.

I am a proud parent of 3 students at eSTEM public charter schools and wouldn't let them go back to the LRSD if you paid me.
