What, exactly, gives anyone in the State Legislature superior knowledge or insight on this matter? The biggest question in my mind is why is this such a pressing issue for Republicans? Where's the fire? There isn't one.

As others have said, this is about much more than preventing mass killings or active shooter situations.

There is no logic behind the submission of this bill. There is no logic for the context of the bill. Even if a shooting were to take place on a local campus, I seriously doubt that we would suddenly change our minds about this.

People who propose such bills come off as paranoid fanatics/extremists. People like that have no place in positions of power. They are far more of a threat than any potential campus shooting.
