Re: “Arkansas Democrats' rocky road forward

If Democrats want to become relevant again then they should return to the values that we had in the past. I have been a lifelong Democrat but honestly the Party is leaving us. Return to the Christian values that most Democrat office holders actually have!! Gun rights is not a republican thing! Most Democrats hunt and fish just like their republican friends. Quit making guns control a big issue. We do not support that. Get back to what Democrats are about and that is taking care of the working class people.
Abortion: Really, why do we make that an issue in the election, most Democrats are personally against abortion but they think it's the right to choose. Ok, but why should we use public funds to pay, After the election noting is done. No Republican or Democrat President has tried to do anything about abortion since I started voting in 1980. My third point is about Healthcare- I do not support the current system of the healthcare law. The reason is because we are spending billions of tax dollars on the government program and insurance premiums continue to rise. We need a system to cover people but can both groups just work together and come up with a system. I am just like most Americans, I am for helping people when I can, but I cannot afford to pay on everyone's healthcare.
I am a democrat but I don't believe in abortion. I believe in gun rights. I think we get back to the base of what the Democrats are about. Help take care of people, taking care of communities, taking care of education. If we don't make a change in our party platform it will continue to be used against our candidates!! If not then I can say that I am not leaving the party but the Party left me.
