Re: “Wednesday night line comment about JuicePlus and Monavie refer to the fact that these people can apply their blind faith to things that make no sense, even when presented with facts to the contrary. Americans seem to want the quick fix...hard work doesn't matter anymore, because there's an easier way if you can take advantage of another person and their weakness. It works in healthcare, on Wall Street, multi-level marketing schemes. And in my experience, the people who fall prey to those schemes are very devout Christians who can apply their faith to that model more than others who tend to question and seek proof and facts.

Re: “Wednesday night line

Strangelove, I as a liberal also expect that the government is going to be a good steward of my tax dollars. But I am sick and tired of it being used for ongoing, unending wars; giving unfair advantages to corporations and the wealthy who pay little to nothing in taxes; channeling money away from education; and forcing young women to have children they don't want or are unprepared to raise because their LEGAL choices and rights are being chipped away.

I am tired of the Bible thumpers trying to force their beliefs on the rest of us while taking away our rights. The same folks who BELIEVE with all their heart that JuicePlus and Monavie are their path to riches. That believe that they can do evil things to others in the name of their religion and it's okay because they are above others. The same people who don't want to teach reproduction or science in our schools, effectively destroying America and allowing other countries to surpass us technologically. Seriously? You don't think dinosaurs ever existed and think its a threat to your religious beliefs? Stupid. And I've heard that one with my own ears. Baffling.

I believe in personal responsibility. But am thoroughly disgusted in how the odds are stacked against hard-working Americans, and they don't even know it because of the lies propagated by a group of people who do not have their best interests at heart. Everyone on the right likes to talk about the "moochers" and "takers," and they're referring to minorities when they say it. What they ignore is that states that vote Republican are almost always the states taking the most from the federal government while giving back the least because of their failed economic policies.

And by the way. I have a niece who is alive because after she became insured through Obamacare, she was able to get that lump checked out that was stage 3 breast cancer and get treatment. I have many young friends who are finally able to get the AFFORDABLE care they DESERVE. We don't have a free market system in healthcare. We have a system designed to benefit one entity and one entity only...the INSURANCE INDUSTRY. A true scourge to our country that serves no real purpose but to inflate the cost and availability of care.

Off soapbox.
