I also don't understand why these 2 men think it ALL the teachers' fault when a school is in academic distress! This HB excludes the administration staff. It seems to me if a principal is effective in the school as an instructional leader, the teaching staff would be just as effective. After all, the principal is the one guiding the instructional path of the school. Also, when does the responsibility of the parents for their child's education come into play here? Teachers only have students 1/3 of a day AND are mostly NOT allowed to give homework, what do they expect might happen? You guessed it, academics suffer. Bottom line is the principals are guiding the teachers so, if a school is in academic distress,,, you need to look to the principal to see what he/she is or is NOT doing to lead their staff.
