Re: “Gianforte apologizes for assaulting reporter, settles civil claim with $50,000 contribution

Certainly not. My point was that it was a good letter, apparently is going to plead guilty or similar and make a contribution to charity and Max is saying that his staff should resign or be fired. That is over the top. It speaks to a an overriding desire to slant the coverage by saying it is not enough. Pls go back and read the original report from Max. That was my reference. No battery can be apologized into extinction. It is still a battery.

Re: “Gianforte apologizes for assaulting reporter, settles civil claim with $50,000 contribution

First on the $50K, i understand it is chump change to him, so i am sure he will, but again your comment speaks to an unwillingness to evaluate the matter in anything but a partisan manner. Would he say he was going to do it and then not? Do you not believe that would be noted by the media. C
Certainly his lawyer wrote it. He signed it. When we sign things the lawyers write, they become ours.

Re: “Gianforte apologizes for assaulting reporter, settles civil claim with $50,000 contribution

I believe your comments are part of the problem that folks have these days with the media. This is one of the best apology letters I have ever read. Through, no reservations, covers every aspect, and attempts to make some offset to the conduct. Yes it is not timely. However, to say that it is incomplete because he is not firing staff people. How much is required. All of us have had events we regret.

Re: “Former LR assistant chief Eric Higgins to run for Pulaski County sheriff

It is a sad commentary that disgraced former judge Willard Proctor is counted as part of the Who's Who of the AA community. Will there be a monthly fee for being a supporter of the candidate? Even worse Proctor is the treasurer of the campaign. I think I will pass.

Re: “State School Board member 'sick' of hearing about Little Rock School District; backers demand apology

They are not going to resign. If they did the replacements would be similar and vetted on this issue. Your statement may make you feel better but it is not reality. What does your statement do to get us closer to satisfying the criteria. Max is correct the original issue was bad manners. No excuse.

Re: “State School Board member 'sick' of hearing about Little Rock School District; backers demand apology

We are awash in our Country with the "fake news" issue. Unfortunately, AT contributed to that today. Perhaps it is not in their control, but the Twitter headline is that the Commissioner stated to the LRSD parents that "he was sick of them." That is not what was said. See article above. He is sick of hearing about the issue. That is an entirely different statement. The Twitter headline is misleading. We need to stay away from dramatics and just tell the truth.
