Always in season

books-duck-art.jpg

“The Season: A Photographic Look at the Sport of Duck Hunting” is a new release from outdoors sports writer and television producer Steve Bowman of Little Rock and photographer Mark Stallings of Greenwood. The pair covered the 2005-06 duck season from day one of its 60-day run, capturing images from throughout the state that illustrate the magic that surrounds the hunt for the typical Arkansas hunter. Highlights of the 160-page book include a 20-page section of some of the most gorgeous shots of mallards and other waterfowl you’ll find in any hunting book. “The Season” was self-published by Bowman. The band’s shows cover most of the songs that have either been Youtube viewing sensations or are already album classics with that PMJ touch, such as Taylor Swift’s “Shake, Shake, Shake” and Radiohead’s “Creep.” Consider us blown away though by the show’s main set concluding number of The Postal Service/Ben Gibbard-penned “Such Great Heights” done as if by the Jackson 5 in an “I Want You Back” styling.

As it was, nobody left the arena and into a suddenly chilly April night saying, “I wished they’d played [song name].” Boston played it all, whether you wanted it or not.
