Re: “UPDATE: McClellan faculty protest principal's transfer

How long before Dr. Holmes is gone? He has made some administrative moves that make no sense and do not seem to be in the best interest of the students of LRSD.

Re: “UPDATE: Campaign cash went to Sen. Hutchinson's ex-girlfriend

He traded a classy wife and his kids for a woman that sounds like a complete nut job, beats him up with an alligator head and steals money from his campaign. Brilliant.

Re: “Unhappiness on LR School District principal shuffle

Pookah you are absolutely incorrect. Letters did NOT go out to all principals. Several were not notified until the hour before the Board meeting. This is a fact and not scuttlebutt.

Most of the schools with the very best scores were not even impacted so if the key to correcting the underperforming schools is to put in principals from the best scoring schools in there, why were nearly all of the moves a shuffling of the deck chairs between underperforming schools instead of moving principals from Jefferson, Forrest Park, Roberts, Gibbs, into low performing schools? And some of these principals at the underperforming schools (borrowing your term) were making gains. If they were making gains and were on the right path, why not work with them rather than shuffling them to another underperforming school? I fail to see the wisdom in this management tactic.

If the principal is the problem then get rid of them. Let the lawsuit happen. If they are not effective then that should be documented and let it come out in court. And parents should take one for the team and be okay with receiving an underperforming principal buying their time until retirement? Even if the school isn't "ruined", why should any parent be okay with this management decision? I certainly am not and if your child was impacted, I would hope you would not be either.

Re: “Unhappiness on LR School District principal shuffle

"My takeaway: A school that's working doesn't necessarily need refreshing. A school that isn't working may be "refreshed" by a new principal, but the school receiving that unrefreshing former principal might not be so lucky."

Total agreement with you on this Max! As the parent of a child who cried at hearing their principal was leaving and the uncertainty that this brings, I am disgusted. You certainly can't be in a "rut" after only two or three years which is the tenure of some of these principals. At my child's school, we were only 2 years out after changing principals which was done through a rigorous interview process and not this fly-by-night, notify people a half hour before the Board meeting so they have no time to question or assemble process. This is the way to treat principals who are performing well in their jobs? I don't think so. Looks like a willy nilly, piss poor way to run an administration to me.
