Re: “Arkansas Governor's School: Where are they now?

I went in 1991. I would have to say that, even as a usually-conservative Christian, I appreciated the open dialogue and challenging subject matter at Governor's School (at the time). So many young folks had never been challenged to think or believe for themselves by that age, on either side of any said topic. While a bit of prudence is necessary to not blow young minds too hard, too fast, I thought my AGS experience was excellent and a good introduction to grown-up thought. (Heck, not too many grown-ups think for themselves, either.)

Re: “One Eleven at the Capital (formerly Ashley's) opens today

A well-written homage to our evening of gluttony. Can't wait to go back and get full portion sizes of several things!

Re: “Extreme makeover for the Arkansas Times

Cool project and idea, but the main thing... the writing is brilliant on this piece!

Re: “A pork-lover's paradise by the Fancy Pants Foodie

Squee!! Thanks so much for sharing. I'm blushing at your comments!

I will tell you, the gravy is easier and comes out better if you do it in a slow cooker. All the yummy goodness from the pork comes through, and it basically makes the coffee for you. And it's easier to strain out the coffee grounds.

HOWEVER. The just-done awesome of roasted pork wins for me lately, so we'll just do what we gotta do. Thank you so much for featuring this!

Re: “The state of Central Arkansas dining, as told by its chefs and bartenders

This is outstanding! Great job, Daniel! BTW, ARFoodJobs is doing quarterly industry networking/social events. Hope this adds to our restaurant community.

Re: “The 5 Best Dishes for Cinco de Mayo in Central Arkansas

Have you ever been back to the Luna Maya joint on Cantrell? I thought it was pretty much the bomb.

Re: “Two decades later

I wish my friend from school's operation, Cinco Entrees, made it. He said he got good reviews on the food, but just not enough traffic to support that type of food.
