Sock monkeys are the subject of Terri Popoksy's art at Ketz Gallery. See it and tour other Argenta galleries Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. for downtown North Little Rock's third Friday Artwalk tomorrow night. Greg Thompson Fine Art will be showing works by J.O. Buckley and smaller, inexpensive artworks; Argenta Bead Co. will be open, Doug Norton will be painting at Starving Artist Cafe and artists that normally sell from open air booths will be cozy inside 307 Main St. for “A Gathering of Artists.”

  • Morris takes off

Chad Morris' clear and present hurdle last week, upon being anointed as the Arkansas Razorbacks' sixth permanent head football coach in a quarter-century of occupancy in the Southeastern Conference, was to convince grumbling, listless fans that his credentials were something greater than the seemingly pedestrian 14-22 record in three seasons as the lead pony for the long-besieged SMU program.
