Re: “Some Arkansas Razorback football ticket prices to increase

"....that it would be the largest bond issue for any public education project in Arkansas history."

I believe the NLR School District issued bonds totaling over 160 million for their school upgrades. Total budget was over 200 million for a new high school, 5 new elementary schools, remodeling 4 other elementary schools and additions to a middle school. Although there were 2 or 3 separate bond issues for timing reasons totaling over 160 million they were all funded by the the same voter approved property tax increase and presumably would be considered a public education project.

Re: “Paula Juels Jones announces for North Little Rock judgeship

I can't say enough good things about Paula. I can tell you she has personally made a difference in kids lives and their families through her work at the NLRHS Teen Court. I would go to the wall for this lady

Re: “Justin Harris comments on adoption report; Speaker Gillam says issue in past tense. We disagree.

We adopted a 9 yr old girl who we fostered since age 7. There were tremendous problems after the adoption. For a while she was a danger to herself and the home. We made mistakes and she was temporarily put back in foster care. WE fought for her BECAUSE WE MADE A COMMITTMENT TO HER. We got her back after a few weeks, sought out help and counseling for her, ourselves and the family. NEVER did we ever consider rehoming or returning her to the system. WE MADE A COMMITTMENT. She wanted and needed that commitment. Finally after several years, several hospital stays, she is doing well. She is 18 now, on the honor roll and looking forward to college and a nursing career. What I fault Rep Harris for is the lack of commitment. Adoption is a commitment just like having your own kids. Would he or anyone else consider rehoming one of his own birth kids or even one of his one with special needs or psychological needs? Childraising is tough and raising adopted kids with often horrific back stories is even tougher. To me this shows a lack of commitment and it certainly should be a consideration by voters.

Re: “Duck Dynasty and its constitutionally ignorant fans

Corporations are people too, at least that what many defending Phil say. So why aren't they arguing for the right of A&E to do whatever they want free of government and liberal media influence? Wait a minute it's the right wing media trying to influence A& I am really confused. Who has rights and who doesn't? Or does a person or corporation only have rights when we agree with their actions and words?

Re: “University of Ozarks boss leads private college pay in Arkansas

Thanks for mentioning Carnegie Mellon Max. I graduated from there with a Bachelors and Masters degree. We don't often get mentioned in local media and I'm not sure anyone in AR actually knows where it is

Re: “UPDATE: Tax correction bill, but rest of legislation speedily approved

I guess LR, NLR and PCSSD will have to file with the Court to get their over payments back too. God help those small school districts in some of those same representative's areas that voted against this when they see their State foundation payments drop precipitously without all that money form the richer districts
